Thank you for your interest in this blog!
The prophet Isaiah (55:11) announced that Torah, the word of G-d, would come forth from Zion:
So is the word that issues from My mouth:
It does not come back to Me unfulfilled,
But performs what I purpose,
Achieves what I sent it to do. (JPS)
This Tetze Torah blog offers a space for thinking about which role the Hebrew Bible and the entire Jewish tradition, in particular the Torah, can play in dealing with our twenty-first century world and society.
The blog will publish perspectives based on the Torah and the millenia-long Jewish tradition of reflecting about the Torah. Essays and research, as much as literary and artistic contributions will explore and formulate ways in which our society, whether nationally or internationally, locally or globally, and our own individual lives, relations, families, communities, as well as our education, government and businesses, may benefit from the Torah. It will discuss and consider the inspiration provided by the theological and philosophical, moral and ethical, the historical, literary, und cultural tradition of Judaism and its major branches.
The blog is not dogmatically orientated, but welcomes openness and discussion in its contributions. It operates multilingually – contributions may be published in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, German, French, Russian or Ukrainian, for example, each contribution in the author's chosen language.
Enjoy! If you like the blog and find it beneficial, feel free to get in touch and pass on the word!
